ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention provides in a sliding-throttle-valve type carburetor, the jet needle is formed of hard wire material and the needle jet member is formed of free-cutting metal and plated with nickel-phosphorus. Increased wear resistance of the metering parts gives a substantially extended service life, reducing secular change in fuel rate and also in quality of engine exhaust gases, despite of the normal floating function of the jet needle. The formation of metering parts is also advantageous in that it gives increased accuracy and ease of assembling allowing for mass production.
