A fuel nozzle centerbody (102) having a cylindrical cross-sectional area is provided. The centerbody (102) includes an inlet (52), an outlet (54), a centerline axis (103) extending from the inlet to the outlet, and a baffle (200) substantially co- axially aligned within the centerbody, the baffle including a plurality of circumferentially- spaced apertures (84) configured to channel airflow radially outward to facilitate impingement cooling of the centerbody.
