A fuel tank formed by integrally forming flanges (7f, 8f) at the peripheral edge parts of bowl-like steel sheet-made upper tank half body (7) and lower tank half body (8), and overlappingly joining these flanges (7f, 8f), liquid- tight, to each other. These both flanges (7f, 8f) are fixedly caulked in a roll shape to form an annular thick wall joined part (12), and a pair of annular reinforcement ribs (7r, 8r) arranged continuously with both sides of the joined part (12) are formed on the upper and lower tank half bodies (7, 8). Thus, a sufficient strength can be imparted to the periphery of the joined part of the flanges without increasing the thickness of the steel sheet.
L~invention concerne un réservoir de carburant constitué en formant intégralement des brides (7f, 8f) sur les bordures périphériques du demi-corps d~un réservoir supérieur fait en feuille d~acier et ressemblant à une cuvette (7) et du demi-corps de réservoir inférieur (8), puis en liant par chevauchement ces brides (7f, 8f) l~une avec l~autre, de façon étanche aux liquides. Ces deux brides (7f, 8f) sont fermement matées dans une forme de rouleau pour former une partie jointe de paroi épaisse annulaire (12) et une paire d~arêtes de renforcement annulaires (7r, 8r) disposées en continu avec les deux côtés de la partie jointe (12) sont formées sur les demi-corps du réservoir supérieur et inférieur (7, 8). Ainsi, on peut conférer une résistance suffisante à la périphérie de la partie jointe des brides, sans augmenter l~épaisseur de la feuille d~acier.
