Discharge of fuel vapor from within a vehicle fuel tank, is controlled by a valve container adapted to be installed in the fuel tank with an inlet in communication with the fuel tank, an outlet, and a main chamber defined therebetween. A valve assembly is disposed in the main chamber and formed for movement between an open position allowing flow of fuel vapor through the outlet and a closed position preventing flow of at least fuel vapor through the outlet. The valve assembly controllably provides communication between the inlet and outlet. A primary liquid separation chamber in said main chamber is defined between the valve assembly and the outlet. An auxiliary liquid separation chamber in the main chamber is defined between the primary liquid separation chamber and outlet. A baffle is retained in the container between the primary and auxiliary liquid separation chambers and includes at least one aperture therein providing communication between them.
