A full-time all-wheel drive system for a motor vehicle equipped with a transversely mounted engine (12) and transaxle includes a power take-off unit (16). The power take-off unit includes an interaxle differential (46) which drives a first power path (18) connected to the front wheels and a second power path (20) connected to the rear wheels. The first power path includes a planetary final drive unit (74) which drives a double planetary front differential unit (76) that is interconnected to a pair of front axleshafts. The second power path includes a helical gearset (122, 124, 126) and a bevel gearset (136, 142) which deliver power to a rear propshaft (28).

Cette invention concerne une unité de prise de force sur système de transmission intégrale permanente pour véhicule à moteur équipé d'un moteur transversal et d'une boîte-pont. L'unité de prise de force comprend un différentiel inter-essieux assurant une première transmission de la puissance aux roues AV et une seconde transmission de la puissance aux roues AR. La première transmission de puissance fait intervenir une unité de réducteur de roue à train planétaire qui entraîne une unité de différentiel AV à double train planétaire lui même relié à une paire de demi-arbres d'essieu AV.
