ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A carton for packaging a plurality of uniform containers such as bottles is disclosed, together with a blank for forming such a carton. The carton has a top wall, a bottom wall, and a pair of side walls, with the side walls having upper portions hinged to respective side edges of the top wall and lower portions hinged to respective side edges of the bottom wall thereby forming a tubular structure. An end closure panel is hinged to each of the top, bottom and side walls at each end of the tubular structure to close the ends thereof. Each side wall end closure panel is integrally hinged to the adjacent top wall end closure panel and to the lower portion of the associated side wall, and a foldable gusset panel is integrally hinged to the adjacent top wall end closure panel and to the upper portion of the associated side wall. The side wall end closure panel and the gusset panel are formed with a fold line located intermediate the top wall end closure panel and the associated side wall to permit simul- taneous inward folding thereof when the top wall end closure panel is folded into its closed position.
