The invention relates to functionalized polyazoles containing recurrent imidazole units of general formula (1a) and/or (1b) and/or (1c) and/or (2), in which the radicals Ar, Ar1 and Ar2 represent tetravalent, divalent, or trivalent aromatic or heteroaromatic groups, Y represents a bond or a group comprising 1 to 20 carbon atoms, v represents a whole number between 1 and 10, and Z represents a group of general formula (3) or (4), in which R1 and R2 independently represent a carbon atom or a group comprising 1 to 20 carbon atoms. The inventive functionalized polyazoles are characterized by the fact that the polyazole is soluble in organic solvents. The invention also relates to intermediate products and methods for producing said polyazoles as well as polymer electrolyte membranes and fuel cells containing the inventive polyazoles.

L'invention se rapporte à des polyazoles fonctionnalisés contenant des unités imidazole récurrentes de formule générale (1a) et/ou (1b) et/ou (1c) et/ou (2) dans lesquelles : les groupes Ar, Ar?1¿ et Ar?2¿ représentent des groupes aromatiques ou hétéroaromatiques tétravalents, bivalents ou trivalents ; Y représente une liaison ou un groupe comportant 1 à 20 atomes de carbone ; v représente un nombre entier compris entre 1 et 10 ; et Z représente un groupe de formule générale (3) ou (4) dans lesquelles R?1¿ et R?2¿ représentent chacun indépendamment l'un de l'autre un atome d'hydrogène ou un groupe comportant 1 à 20 atomes de carbone. L'invention est caractérisée en ce que lesdits polyazoles sont solubles dans des solvants organiques. Cette invention concerne en outre des produits intermédiaires, des procédés de production de ces polyazoles, ainsi que des membranes polymères ioniques (PEM) et des piles à combustible contenant lesdits polyazoles.
