ABSTRACT FURAN DERIVATIVES The invention relates to salts formed between ranitidine and a complex of bismuth with a carboxylic acid, and solvates of such salts. Examples of suitable carboxylic acids are citric acid, tartaric acid and agaricic acid. The salts are useful in the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders, particularly gastroduodenal conditions. The salts show the antisecretory activity associated with ranitidine together with antibacterial activity against Campylobacter pylori and they also possess cytoprotective properties.
