A furan polymer impregnated wood which comprises wood impregnated with a polymerizable furfuryl alcohol monomer mixture containing at least water and furfuryl alcohol, and an initiator selected from the group consisting of anhydrides, acids and combinations thereof is described. For longer storage life, the mixture contains a stabilizer selected from sodium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate, sodium citrate, phosphates and water-soluble lignin derivatives such as calcium and ammonium salts of lignosulfonic acids, and combinations thereof. A method for preparing a furan impregnated wood and uses thereof is also described.
La présente invention concerne un bois imprégné de polymère furannique qui comprend un bois imprégné d'un mélange de monomère d'alcool furfuryle polymérisable contenant au moins de l'eau et un alcool furfuryle et d'un initiateur sélectionné dans le groupe constitué d'anhydrides, d'acides et de combinaisons de ces composés. En vue d'une long stockage, ce mélange contient un stabilisateur sélectionné parmi le carbonate de sodium, le bicarbonate de sodium, des phosphates et des dérivés de lignine soluble dans l'eau tels que des sels de calcium et d'ammonium d'acides lignosulfoniques et des combinaisons de ces composés. Cette invention concerne aussi un procédé de préparation de ce bois imprégné de furane et des utilisations de ce bois.
