Abstract of the Disclosure The present invention provides a furnace for solid waste fuel including a closable feed hopper disposed above an afterburning compartment for receiving the fuel, means for supplying primary combustion air to a combustion and low- temperature carbonization region situated immediately above the afterburning compartment, means for supplying secondary combustion air to the afterburning compartment and means connected to the afterburning compartment for drawing off the completely burnt gases including a suction tube with a con- stricted section and a nozzle arranged to supply a fast flowing gas through the tube in the direction of the outflowing, burnt gases.
