ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A furniture coaster for use in supporting furniture legs and the like is disclosed. Such coasters comprise a centre support portion adapted to receive furniture legs, and a rim around the perimeter of the coaster. The centre support portion and rim are designed to distribute the weight that is transmitted through the coaster to the supporting surface below in a more distributed manner. The centre support and the rim are connected by a spanning portion, which is further adapted to accommodate the pile of the carpet. The furniture leg is kept centered in the coaster by centering means, including a concave upper surface and one or more radially displaced concentric ribs.
