A furniture door latch is provided to keep the door closed securely, and prevents it from opening even if the stored contents are shifted forward to strike against the door. The door latch device (1) is configured from a latch body (7), mounted on a door (5) supported on a furniture body (3) such that it can open and close, and a securing mechanism with a shearing face on its front face, mounted on the furniture body (3) in a position to mate with the latch body (7). The latch body (7) has a bolting member (13), with an interlocking segment (13c), supported inside a metal case (11) such that its front tip can move to interlock with a securing mechanism (9); an elastic member (15) which constantly energizes the bolting member (13) in the direction to lock the device; an actuating spindle (23), with an actuating member (25) on its tail end, supported to be movable in the axial direction inside a cylindrical segment (21a) of an enclosure plate (21) mounted on the front face of the case (11); and a rocking member (19), supported on the case (11) such that it can rotate, which is configured from one arm (19a) which interlocks with the interlocking segment (13c) and another arm (19b) connected to the actuating member (25).
