ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A connecting device is provided for joining together, in ignitable relationship, a length of igniter cord and a length of fuse. The device comprises a tubular waterproof shell adapted to receive within its bore a length of fuse. The end of the shell contains an ignitable mixture and an igniter cord is held in contact therewith through a transverse slot. A trans- verse perforated plate superimposed on the ignitable mixture provide an improved heat transfer between the ignitable mixture and the fuse core.
