Apparatus for transferring visible images from a first surface to a second surface and/or for fusing or fixing a visible image to a substrate, comprising: a cylindrical member secured between two round end plates to form a cylindrical structure; a volatile liquid incorporated within the cylindrical structure in a cavity, at least one wall of which is thermally connected to the cylindrical member; and a heater that heats the liquid to an operating temperature, wherein the amount of the volatile liquid is such that all of the volatile liquid would be evaporated at a temperature that is less than about 20 ~C above the operating temperature.
L'invention concerne un appareil de transfert d'images visibles d'une première surface à une seconde surface et/ou destiné à fusionner ou à fixer une image visible sur un substrat. Cet appareil comprend un élément cylindrique fixé entre deux plaques d'extrémité circulaires formant une structure cylindrique, un liquide volatil dans une cavité à l'intérieur de la structure cylindrique, au moins une paroi connectée thermiquement à l'élément cylindrique, et une unité de chauffage qui permet de chauffer le liquide jusqu'à une température de fonctionnement, la quantité de liquide volatil étant telle que tout ce liquide s'évaporerait à une température supérieure de moins de 20 ·C à la température de fonctionnement.
