ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A fusible element of a current-limiting fuse has a plurality of hole groups with at least two holes in each group. Separation between adjacent holes within the group is substantially less than separation between adjacent groups. Accordingly, while fault currents driven by voltages at two different levels are effectively extinguished, the back voltage developed by the fuse during interruption of a fault current driven by the lower voltage is prevented from exceeding a selected value.
