A seed treater for providing a uniform coating of liquid chemical or the like to seed prior to planting. Overflow of seed accumulated in an internal chamber causes seed to splash out of the chamber and fall through an annular space between the chamber and the housing as a dispersed annular curtain. A circular, hollow conical spray pattern from a centrally positioned nozzle intersects the annular curtain. The annular curtain passes through the spray pattern at an angle resulting in uniform coating of the seed. The seed falls through a conical discharge for recovery. Preferably a cone at the bottom of the chamber creates an annular gap through which seed can drain at the end of the operation.
