ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An internal gage has a measuring assembly with two gaging fingers for contacting the part to be measured. One gaging finger is mounted upon a carriage driven by precision screw assembly and the other gaging finger is mounted upon a platform supported by reeds and may be moved to various stations along the platform. The screw assembly is operatively connected to an incremental position transducer having a digital readout. The platform is associated with an electromechanical transducer connected to a zero meter. The measuring assembly is mounted upon a vertically movable support so that the internal dimensions of tapered parts may be ascertained. In addition, the fingers may include floating elements to enable the measurement of pitch diameters.
