This invention provides a plant growth regulatory activity of a new biologically active synthetic molecule Methanone- (3', 4', 5'-trimethoxy) phenyl, 1-naphthyl, 2-O-4"-ethyl but-2"-enoate. More particularly, the invention relates to the potent plant growth promoting activity of a gallic acid derivative having the structural formulae (1) and molecular formulae C26H26O7. This invention also provides a novel process for preparation of a said molecule from a naturally occurring compound and testing it for growth regulating activity using Bacopa test system developed at CIMAP (Khanuja et al 2001).
L'invention concerne une activité régulant la croissance des plantes exercée par une nouvelle molécule synthétique bioactive méthanone-(3', 4', 5'-triméthoxy)phényl,1-naphtyl,2-O-4"-éthyl-but-2"-énoate. D'une manière plus spécifique, l'invention concerne la puissante activité stimulatrice de croissance des plantes exercée par un dérivé d'acide gallique représenté par les formules structurelles 1 et les formules moléculaires C¿26?H¿26?O¿7?. L'invention concerne également un nouveau procédé qui permet de préparer cette molécule à partir d'un composé naturel et de tester son activité de régulation de la croissance à l'aide d'un système de test Bacopa développé à CIMAP (Khanuja et al. 2001).
