ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A galvannealed steel sheet having a superior spot weldability characteristic in which the steel sheet has a base steel sheet cold-rolled from a material containing 0.005 wt% or less of C, 0.005 to 0.05 wt% of Ti, 0.01 to 0.1 wt% of Al, 0.005 to 0.015 wt% of Nb and 0.0002 to 0.002 wt% of B and a hot-dip galvannealed layer containing 9 to 12 wt% of Fe. In the process for making the galvannealed steel sheet, a cold-rolled sheet is (1) annealed, (2) rapidly cooled, (3) dipped in a hot melt of plating zinc having an Al content of 0.13 wt% or more to form a plating layer and (4) alloying heat-treated.
