The present invention relates to methods for terminal sterilization of solid forms of nanoparticulate active agent compositions via gamma irradiation. The nanoparticulate active agent has an effective average particle size of less than about 2 microns, prior to incorporation into a solid form for sterilization. The resultant sterilized compositions exhibit excellent redispersibility, homogeneity, and uniformity. Also encompassed are compositions made via the described method and methods of treating animals and humans using such compositions.

L'invention concerne des procédés de stérilisation terminale de formes solides de compositions d'agents actifs nanoparticulaires au moyen d'une irradiation gamma. L'agent actif nanoparticulaire présente une taille particulaire moyenne efficace inférieure à environ 2 microns, préalablement à une incorporation dans une forme solide en vue d'une stérilisation. Les compositions stérilisées obtenues présentent une redispersibilité, une homogénéité et une uniformité exceptionnelles. L'invention concerne également des compositions obtenues au moyen desdits procédés et des procédés de traitement d'animaux et d'êtres humains mettant en oeuvre lesdites compositions.
