ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention provides a frame saw comprising a support structure, a loose frame provided with top and bottom transoms and a set of saw blades held taut between them, said loose frame being movably mounted in the support structure by means of a linkage arrangement in such a way that it can move upwards and downwards in relation to the support structure in such a way that the saw blades move in vertical planes which are parallel to each other, and a driving arrangement comprising a crank shaft, the axis of rotation of which is perpendicular to said vertical planes, and at least one connecting rod, one end of which is connected to the throw of the crank shaft and the other end of which is connected to one of the transoms of the loose frame, said linkage arrangement for each of the transoms compris- ing two to said vertical planes perpendicular shafts, which are pivoted in the support structure behind, respectively in front of the plane of the loose frame as seen through the saw in the direction of sawing, each of said shafts being provided with an arm immovably attached to and radially extending from the respective shaft, and two connecting links, of each of which one end pivots against the outward end of each of said arms, charac- terized by each of the other ends of said connecting links pivoting individually against the transom by turning on a pivot perpendicular to said vertical planes, and by the two shafts being mechanically connected to each other by means of link elements arranged in such a way as to strive to keep the angles of turning of the two shafts equal in size but directed in opposite directions to each other in relation to a neutral position, at least those of said link elements which influence the transom which is connected to the connecting rod comprising a double acting elastic element enabling the two shafts to diverge, against the influence exerted by the resilience of the elastic element from compelled turning with angles of turning which are equal in size but directed in opposite directions in relation to the neutral position.
