A garage door roller assembly includes a stem and a roller composed of a polymeric material. The stem has a shaft segment which may be mounted to the garage door such that a race segment of the stem is positioned at a distance from the side edge of the door. A shoulder portion of the roller extends radially inward from the inside surface of the roller and is disposed within a circumferential groove on the race segment to retain the roller on the stem. An outer portion of the roller engages an L-shaped track positioned on the side of the entry way.
