ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION An improved bag holder formed of wire is disclosed. The holder is particularly useful for holding bags with handles and particularly useful when the bag is used as a garbage bag. The invention takes advantage of the flexure and resiliency characteristics of wire. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, a neck is provided on which to store unused bags. In a further embodiment of the invention, a unique manner is provided for keeping the held bag closed in order to reduce the emission of unwanted odors.
