ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE GARBAGE BAG SUPPORT A garbage bag support comprises simply a sleeve member with an open upper end and an open lower end. At the upper end is provided a surrounding flange below which is provided a parallel rib to define a recess therebetween receiving an elastic band to trap an upper edge of the bag wrapped over the upper end of the sleeve. The sleeve is tapered so that its circumference reduces from the lower end gradually toward the upper end. This taper cooperates with the open lower end to allow the sleeve member to be lifted off a bag when filled. The circumferences are selected so that the bag is supported along its full extent by contact with the inside surface of the sleeve but can be expanded to a maximum extent for complete filling.
