When working in their gardens during the Spring / Summer growing seasons, many people would prefer to be wearing open toed sandals or similar footwear. The obvious disadvantage is that socks or the exposed skin of the feet can become soiled and even possibly adversely affected by chemicals, such as fertilizers, used in the soil. This is especially true when the soil is damp or wet as after rain or manual / mechanical watering. A pair of ankle height, durable, latex rubber foot coverings, resembling several types of knit or woven slippers currently available on the market, worn over the socks or bare feet, would protect the gardener against these undesirable or unwanted skin contacts.
