A manually operated, two lever aim type garlic press (21) is provided which a detachable associated cleaning plate (22) that is stored at the front end of the one of the lever arms (preferably, the first lever arm). The cleaning plate (22) is provided with projections (53) on its inner surface which are adopted to engage with apertures (39) in the floor plate of the press chamber so as to clean debris from the apertures after usage of the garlic press. During storage, the projections extend forwardly from the associated lever arm. The cleaning plate (22) is provided with opposite side clips (54, 56) and with top and bottom stabilizing legs (57, 58) that coact together and cooperate with side portions of the associated lever arm adjacent to the front end to hold the cleaning plate relative to that lever arm. Preferably, the top stabilizing leg also functions as a lock to retain the lever arms in a closed configuration during garlic press storage.
La présente invention concerne un presse-ail (21) à main du type à double bras de levier muni d'une plaquette de nettoyage amovible (22) qui est rangée dans l'extrémité avant de l'un des deux bras de levier (de préférence le premier). Cette plaque de nettoyage (22) comporte sur sa surface interne des dents qui sont conçues pour s'emboîter dans les ouvertures (39) de la plaque de fond de la chambre de compression et chasser les débris des ouvertures après utilisation du presse-ail. En position de rangement, les dents dépassent vers l'avant du bras de levier qui abrite la plaque pendant le rangement. La plaque (22) est munie de pinces latérales opposées (54, 56) et de jambages de stabilisation supérieur et inférieur (57, 58) qui interviennent concurremment et coopèrent avec les parties latérales du bras près la partie avant pour assurer le nettoyage de la plaque. Le jambage de stabilisation supérieur assure également une fonction de verrouillage des bras de levier en position fermée de rangement.
