The present invention seeks to provide a hanger which is simple to use and can be operated and held with one hand, leaving the other hand free to introduce the garment. Since both sides of the hanger are identical, it can be used with the same ease whether right or left handed. Therefore the central operation location is ideally suited, to depress or release either left or right side of the secondary body with the same thumb, thus opening or closing the chosen side.
