A garment to be worn by a convalescent patient comprises a front panel portion and a rear panel portion that are joined together adjacent their top edges so as to form a neck opening. A right closure mechanism is secured to the front panel portion and the rear panel portion, for selectively closing together and separating the front panel portion and rear panel portion along their respective right side edges. A left closure mechanism is secured to the front panel portion and the rear panel portion, for selectively closing together and separating the front panel portion and rear panel portion along their respective left side edges. The garment is placeable over a patient with the right closure mechanism and the left closure mechanism in their open configurations. The garment is in a wearable configuration when the right closure mechanism and the left closure mechanism are in their closed configurations.
