ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A collection device for collecting and withdrawing anesthetic or analgesic gas exhaled by a patient. The device includes a member which is applied to the patient's chin and is provided with at least one suitably shaped opening positioned adjacent the patient's mouth, which communicates through tubing with a source of suction. The opening is positioned at the patient's chin to receive gases as they are exhaled by the patient.
