A fuel gas type hammering tool, comprising a spring and a check valve which allow the front side of the feed cylinder of a feed piston/cylinder mechanism to communicate with a combustion chamber, encloses the rear side of the feed cylinder, and always energizing the feed piston in a forward nail feeding direction and an opening valve communicating with the rear side of the feed cylinder. The opening valve is openably operated after or immediately before the returning of a hammering piston is completed.
