ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION A gas cylinder coupling and weighing mechanism useful in a carbonated drink dispenser having a gas cylinder supported rotatably within a hood, the hood forming a lever which is biased upwardly by a spring. A full cylinder will pull the hood all the way down. As the cylinder is emptied, the hood will begin to move upward, and when the cylinder is empty the hood will be fully up . Mounted inside the hood is a fitting containing a thin probe. The gas cylinder, in order to engage the probe, is provided with a member having a check valve which is opened by the insertion of the probe, the member further having a pair of arms. The arms are aligned with locking slots also contained within the member which are used to engage pins which are provided on the probe fitting when the gas cylinder is placed in the dispenser.
