ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed is a surge-arrester having at least two concentrically arranged electrodes, which are insulated from each other by means of a hollow cylindrical insulating element, and which define at least one discharge gap. The internal surface of the insulating element is provided with an electrically-conducting layer in the form of one or more strips, or of a surface coating. This reduces the pulsed response voltage.
