Image enhancing contrast agents for use in diagnostic and/or therapeutic methods, particularly in the form of gas-filled microvesicles, with enhanced stability. The gas-filled microvesicles are stabilized by a layer of amphiphilic material and comprise from 0.15% to 1.0% by moles of a lipid bearing a hydrophilic polymer. The lipid bearing a hydrophilic polymer is preferably a phospholipid linked to polyethyleneglycol.

L'invention concerne des agents de contraste rehaussant les images utilisés dans des procédés diagnostiques et/ou thérapeutiques, et se présentant en particulier sous la forme de microvésicules remplies de gaz, et ayant une meilleure stabilité. Les microvésicules remplies de gaz sont stabilisées par une couche de matériau amphiphile et contiennent entre 0.15% et 1.0% en moles d'un lipide comprenant un polymère hydrophile. Le lipide comprenant un polymère hydrophile est de préférence un phospholipide lié à du polyéthylénéglycol.
