A heater system includes a fire tube with a gas burner at one end and an exhaust stack at the other. The burner includes an upstream air fuel mixer and a nozzle discharging into a liner positioned concentrically within theupstream end of the fire tube and spaced from the tube. A static mixer in the fire tube promotes good contact between the hot combustion gases and the wall of the fire tube. A cap is used at the top of the exhaust stack to control the draft through the stack and therefore through the fire tube.
