GAS FLOW REGULATING STRUCTURE ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE For controlling the flow of a gas in a duct, a ring which is adapted to be situated in the duct surrounds a predetermined axis which passes through the center of the ring and which is normal to a plane con- taining the ring, this axis coinciding with the duct axis when the ring is situated in the duct. A plurality of overlapping throttling blades are pivotally carried by the ring and are adapted to be situated therewith in the duct. These blades define the side surface of a truncated cone and have upstream end defining the base of the cone and downstream ends defining the apex of the truncated cone as well as a throttling aperture through which the gas is adapted to flow. The cone defined by the throttling blades has an axis which coincides with the above axis. Thus, when the above ring and blades are situated in a duct it is possible to turn the overlapping throttling blades with respect to the ring so as to con- trol the size of the throttling aperture which defines the apex of the truncated cone.
