Gas insulated cable, including a number of cable segments (1A, 1B) linked together in pairs. Each segment contains three conductors (2A, 2B,...). The end of each conductor (2A, 2B,...) of a segment (1A) is fitted with a metal end socket (13A, 14A...) fitted into a cylindrical metal part (2B', 3B',...) on the conductor (2B, 3B,...) complementary to the adjacent segment (1B), the said terminal part (2B', 3B',...) being provided with an interior contact (17B, 18B,...) co-operant with the said end (13A, 14A,...) with an insulating sleeve (21, 22,...) equal in length to about twice its diameter, placed around the said end (13A, 14A,...) and between the end (13A, 14A,...) and the inner wall of the said end portion (2B', 3B',...).
