A gas lens assembly for an arc welding torch includes a lens body (24), a passage (30) through the lens body for receiving an electrode (48) therethrough and for permitting flow of an inert gas in the passage. A lens housing (32) is secured to the lens body. One or more openings in the forward end portion of the lens body enable the inert gas to flow from the passage into the housing. The gas lens assembly includes a flow control device (36) associated with the housing through which said inert gas is adapted to flow. The gas lens assembly includes a holder (34) for the flow control device releasably and removably attached to the lens housing whereby the flow control member may readily be replaced.

L'invention porte sur un système de lentille à gaz pour chalumeau de soudage à l'arc comportant un corps de lentille (24), un passage (30) ménagé le corps de la lentille traversé par une électrode (48) et permettant le passage de gaz inerte. Un logement (32) abritant la lentille est fixé à cette dernière, tandis qu'une ou plusieurs ouvertures ménagées dans l'extrémité avant du corps de lentille laissent passer le gaz venant du passage. Le système de lentille à gaz comprend un dispositif de réglage du flux (36) solidaire du logement et à travers lequel circule le gaz. Le système de lentille comporte de plus un support (34) servant à fixer réversiblement le dispositif de réglage du flux (36) de manière à pouvoir le remplacer facilement.
