Gas extracted from a well bore typically contains a relatively high volume of water vapour and accordingly, when the temperature is very low, there are frequently problems with the gas line freezing. The present invention is directed to an apparatus for heating a natural gas line using coolant from a liquid cooled engine. In one embodiment, the invention, comprises an apparatus for heating a natural gas line, for use with a liquid-cooled engine having a circulating coolant system including an engine coolant outlet and an engine coolant inlet comprising a duct having a first end and a second end and defining a coolant passage, a first seal means for passing the gas line through the first end of the duct and into the coolant passage, and a second seal means for passing the gas line through the second end of the duct and out of the coolant passage.
