A method and device for the gas-phase separation of ionic biomolecules including peptide, and protein or inorganic cluster ions or nanoparticles by ion mobility and for depositing them intact on a surface in a spatially addressable manner is described. The surface onto which the proteins are deposited can be modified for the purpose of constructing microarrays of biologically relevant materials or for promoting the growth of highly ordered protein crystals.

Méthode et dispositif de séparation dans la phase gazeuse de bio-molécules ioniques qui comprennent des ions ou des nanoparticules peptidiques et protéiniques ou inorganiques regroupés par mobilité d'ions, afin de les déposer à l'état intact sur une surface d'une manière adressable dans l'espace. La surface sur laquelle les protéines sont déposées peut être modifiée afin de construire des micro-réseaux de matériaux d'importance biologique ou de promouvoir la croissance de cristaux de protéines très ordonnés.
