ABSTRACT A system for pumping fluids and pressurizing gases incorporating an inflatable bladder inside an accumulator or container. The system uses a liquid for compressing the bladder inside the container and avoids pistons or rotating blades, also provides a pump for corrosive gases and liquids. The bladder has no connection to the container, and a fluid input line from the bladder has a first non-return valve for connection to a fluid supply. A fluid output line from the bladder has a second non-return valve and a hydraulic supply system feeds liquid under pressure to the container to compress the bladder within the container and force fluid out through the output line, a drain allows liquid from the container to drain to permit the bladder to fill with fluid, and a timer used in association with a value repeats the steps of feeding liquid to the container and draining liquid from the container.
