A process and system for separating a high purity gas, such as oxygen, from a feed gas stream, such as air that includes heating the feed gas stream in one or more regenerators that store and release thermal energy in an alternating cycle to sufficiently heat the feed air stream of a selective ceramic membrane operating temperature and passing the heated feed gas stream through the selective ceramic membrane to separate a gas component from the other components of the gas stream.
