ABSTRACT Apparatus for detecting and/or indicating gas leakage and/or gas pressure build up from or in a sealed, liquid and gas containing, inductive apparatus enclosure, wherein said gas is located in a gas space above and is in contact h said liquid. The apparatus includes a chamber that contains a gas and has an opening therein that is immersed in said liquid. Gas pressures in said chamber and said gas space are sensed by suitable pressure sensing means. If pressures in these two gas spaces, which change from the effects of the thermal characteristics of said liquid, differ significantly from one another after being equalized, it is an indication that gas has leaked from or that gas pressure has built up in one of the above-defined gas spaces. The pressure sensing means actuates suitable gas- leak and/or gas pressure build up indicating means, when it senses a significant pressure differential.
