ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A relatively simple, safe gas tank crushing apparatus includes a frame defined by parallel, spaced apart side walls carrying a first pair of spaced apart, spiked, counterrotating rollers for receiving a gas tank from an inclined inlet ramp, the spikes serving to puncture the tank during preliminary crushing, so that any gasoline remaining in the tank can drip into a container beneath the rollers. The gas tank passes between a second, lower pair of smooth, parallel counterrotating rollers for further crushing and discharge via an inclined outlet ramp. A simple drive for the apparatus includes a pair of hydraulic motors, each connected to a pair of rollers by sprocket wheels and chains.
