Abstract Gas Turbine Engine Drive System In a gas turbine engine system the gas turbine (1) acts as a prime mover and includes an electrical generator/motor (2) in driving connection with the rotor (13) of the turbine. The generator supplies energy storage means (12 or 27) and control means (11) controls the operation of the system according to the power demand and the rate of increase of the power demand. The system allows for more rapid acceleration and rapid increase in the power demand.
