A gas wiping nozzle (10, 38, 58) for a wire coating apparatus comprises a passage for a wire (12) being drawn therethrough along a central axis (20). The passage (16) includes a converging inlet section (22, 40, 60) through which the wire (12) coated with molten metal enters into the gas wiping nozzle (10, 38, 58), and a wiping section (24, 42, 62) arranged downstream of said inlet section (22, 40, 60) and having therein gas outlet means (26) surrounding the passage (16) for blowing wiping gas against the surface of said wire (12) being drawn therethrough. A protruding annular lip (28) is arranged between the converging inlet section (22, 40, 60) and the wiping section (24, 42, 62); the lip (28) defines a narrower passage (16) than the wiping section (24, 42, 62), so as to protect the gas outlet means (26) in the wiping section (24, 42, 62) from direct contact with the coated wire (12).
Ajutage de gaz (10, 38, 58) conçu pour un dispositif de revêtement de fil et comprenant un passage de fil (12) à travers lequel le fil est tiré le long d'un axe central (20). Ce passage (16) comporte une partie entrée convergente (22, 40, 60) par laquelle le fil (12) revêtu de métal en fusion pénètre dans l'ajutage de gaz (10, 38, 58) dans lequel il est lissé, ainsi qu'une partie lissage (24, 42, 62) située en aval de ladite partie entrée (22, 40, 60) et possédant des moyens de sortie de gaz (26) entourant le passage (16), de manière à souffler du gaz de lissage contre la surface dudit fil (12) tiré à travers le dit passage. Une lèvre annulaire saillante (28) est placée entre la partie entrée convergente (22, 40, 60) et la partie lissage (22, 42, 62) et définit un passage plus étroit (16) que la partie lissage (24, 42, 62), de façon à protéger les moyens de sortie de gaz (26) de la partie lissage (24, 42, 62) d'un contact direct avec le fil revêtu (12).
