This invention relates to a fuel composition comprising (i) a low sulphur fuel having a sulphur content of less than 30 ppm, a bromine number of less than 10 and an ultraviolet absorbance at 319 nm is below 0.15 and (ii) an effective amount of an ashless friction reducing additive which is a fatty acid having 10-30 carbon atoms or a derivative thereof. The fuel of the specified characteristics shown improved response to the friction reducing additive in respect of its lubricity performance.
L'invention concerne une composition de carburant comprenant (i) un combustible à faible teneur en soufre avec moins de 30 ppm, un nombre de brome inférieur à 10 et une absorbance UV à 319 nm inférieure à 0.15, et (ii) une quantité effective d'un additif réducteur de frottement, sans cendre, à savoir un acide gras contenant 10 à 30 atomes de carbone ou un dérivé de celui-ci. Selon l'invention, le carburant ayant les caractéristiques ci-dessus réagit mieux à l'additif réducteur de frottement en termes de performance de lubrification.
