ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Compounds, and process for their preparation, of the general formula Image wherein R and R3 are selected from hydrogen, alkyl containing 1-4 carbon atoms, halogen, and alkoxy containing 1-4 carbon atoms; R4 is selected from hydrogen, and acyl containing 1-4 carbon atoms; A represents either -CH2- or -CH(CH3)- and Het is a 2-pyridyl or 2-quinolyl group, and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts are described. These compounds find use in inhibiting gastric acid secretion in mammals.
