ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A gastric retention device comprising a molding which comprises a conjugate or mixture of a shape memory substance and a bioerodible substance, said molding being of a size and strength sufficient to retain in the stomach for a definite residence time. The gastric retention device has a shape not to hinder passage of food in the stomach and is capable of being folded in an administratable size, and is particularly used for a drug delivery system.
