A gauge for measuring liquid levels in tanks includes a transmitter which transmits a signal and an array of receivers adapted to receive the signal transmitted by the transmitter. Detectors detect the received signal as received by the receivers. The amplitude of the received signal from each receiver in the array of receivers is proportional to the proximity of liquid to the receivers.
