A gear case assembly and lubricant retaining device therefore wherein the assembly includes a gear case having a hub and/or shaft receiving opening therein and a lubricant retaining device extending toward the interior of said case to reduce lubricant flow through said opening. A part of said lubricant retaining device acts as a diverter to restrict lubricant flow toward said opening and consequential potential losses therethrough.
Carter d'engrenages et dispositif de retenue de lubrifiant pour ledit carter, ce dernier comprenant un carter d'engrenages ayant une ouverture pour recevoir un moyeu ou un arbre ainsi qu'un dispositif de retenue de lubrifiant se prolongeant vers l'extérieur dudit carter afin de réduire l'écoulement de lubrifiant à travers l'ouverture. Une partie du dit dispositif de retenue de lubrifiant agit comme moyen de déviation afin de restreindre l'écoulement de lubrifiant vers ladite ouverture ainsi que les fuites potentielles conséquentes susceptibles de se produire à travers l'ouverture.
